Praying God’s Name and Will for Israel

LORD, You said in Your Word that You would bring Your people back to Israel. They would live in their own land permanently (Will: Amos 9:14,15). As Israel celebrates 64 years of reclaimed inheritance from You, let them lift up their voices in one accord, proclaiming You as Promise Keeper(Name: 1 Kings 8:56 implied). Let them rejoice when they remember Your promises and continual concern for Your people. Let their praises be a witness around the world of Your goodness and compassion.

Praying God’s Name and Will for Israel

The eyes of the nations are focused on the country to which You attached Your name. In the past when Israel made You angry by rejecting Your rules, disobeying Your laws, desecrating Your sabbaths and giving their hearts to idol worship, You did not act as a man but as a Holy God. You acted for the sake of Your name. It is Your will that Your name is not profaned in the sight of other nations (Will: Ezekiel 20:9). Discipline rebellious people but protect their nation. We ask this because You value Your name, Glory of Israel (Name: 1 Samuel 15:29).

Praying God’s Name and Will for Israel

LORD, You said that Your arm is not too short that it cannot save. Neither is Your ear too dull that it cannot hear (Will:Isaiah 59:1). It is the sins of people that interfere with Your helping and hearing them (verse 2). Please break down the barriers that hide Your face:

>ignorance among children that have not been taught about You and Your ways

>past hurts among the elderly who remember the Holocaust atrocities

>atheism among those who have been robbed of their identity as children of the LORD Most High (Psalm 47:2)

>despair and darkness that prevent those in political and religious authority from seeing Your hand at work among them

Be Joy Restorer (Name: Psalm 30:11 implied) that Your people may bask in Your presence.

As Israelis mourn the deaths of  families and friends because of terrorist attacks, may they put themselves in a position to receive Your comfort. Your Word states that if Your people would listen to You and if Israel would follow Your ways, then You would subdue their enemies and strike their foes (Will: Psalm 81:13-14). What You said thousands of years ago is still true today for You are Changeless (Name: Malachi 3:6).

Praying God’s Name and Will for Israel

Let Your people remember Your past deeds of deliverance that their fear be turned into praise. You called forth the enemy’s greed and jealousy as ambushes against each other (2 Chronicles 20:22,23). Your weapons are limitless.

LORD, let Your people understand the battle is Yours, not theirs (2 Chron. 20:17). Receive the honor when nations realize that You fight for Israel (2 Chron. 20:29).

Let hearts be still as they watch You work on their behalf, for You are Silencer of Enemies. (Name implied in Psalm 143:12).

Praying God’s Name and Will for Israel

You are Provider (Name: Psalm 78:20). As people prepare to leave their homes of generations past, provide them with transportation to make their prophetic aliyah to Israel. Thank you as You provide safe travel and financial support for the organizations that help these emigrants. Go before them to prepare homes and jobs. Let the countries that they leave continue to have open doors for your people.

Let them see that it is Your hand that leads them out (Will: Jeremiah 16:15). Let them show You, LORD, reverential fear that they would lack nothing (Psalm 34:10).

Praying God’s Name and Will for Israel

Your name is Refuge (Name: Deuteronomy 33:27). You understand the vulnerability of the elderly, orphans and children (Psalm 27:10). Please provide the funds and people to give aid to these precious ones that the assailants of poverty, hardships, indifferences to their plight, and feelings of abandonment might be replaced with Your love.

Teach them to recognize and depend on Your faithful care because You value those who fear You in reverence (Will: Psalm 147:11). And let those that provide their time and money understand that their generosity to the poor is a loan to the LORD who will repay (Proverbs 19:17).
