Month of Prayers for Your Clergy – Day 17

October is Ministry/Clergy Appreciation Month. What better way to show your gratitude and support than to pray for those in charge. Pray God’s name and word back to Him. He likes that.

Pastor’s Prayer Life

Romans 8:31, 34:…If God is for us, who can be against us? Jesus Christ (Messiah Yeshua) is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

Isaiah 61:1: LORD Who Anoints Me to Preach Good News

How to pray: that Pastor’s quiet time before the Lord encourages him to persevere as he:

~worships God in the splendor of His holiness (Psalm 29:2);

~praises God for His attributes (Psalm 71);

~offers thanksgiving for God’s bountiful blessings (Psalm 26:7;107:22;Ephesians 5:20);

~exhibits an attitude of confession and repentance before God (Psalm 51:10) and an attitude of forgiveness for those who have grieved him (Ephesians 4:32);

~brings his petitions to God in complete faith that they will be heard and answered (Psalm 5:3;55:17);

~makes intercession for himself, family, friends, enemies and congregation (Ephesians 6:18);

~luxuriates in God’s unfailing love that surrounds him (Psalm 32:10).

Prayer/Blessing for you, the pray-er

Morning dawns. I enter my secret closet of prayer, closing the door on today’s cares. We commune. I listen and feed on Your words as I rest in You, my True Pasture (Jeremiah 50:7).

How Did You Feel…? – Part 1 of 5

How did you feel, O Earth…

when your Maker walked on your paths? Did you control your trembling because you wanted to be steady and solid for the Master’s feet? Did you cry because your paths were hard by years of travelers? Did you wish your roads were straighter so Christ could be saved those extra steps?

How did you feel, O Stones…

when you had to remain silent as Jesus made His final journey to Jerusalem? Did you resent the multitude robbing you of your opportunity to acknowledge the King that came in the name of the LORD? Did you know that their praise would turn into a curse – Crucify Him?

How did you feel, O Alabaster Box…

when your content of precious ointment of spikenard was poured out? Did you feel badly that you were now empty? Or did you rejoice that you held the perfume bestowed on the Savior’s head? Now broken, no longer usable, did you feel a kinship to Jesus who would be broken for people? Broken by surrendering His wants and will to His Father just as your owner broke you? Broken that your contents may be poured out just like Jesus’ blood poured out for people’s redemption?

Praying God’s Name and Will for Israel

You are a passionate God who desires a personal relationship with your children (Will: Isaiah 63:14). Quicken in their hearts a lasting desire to know You, to seek Your ways, to worship You in word and deed. May their hands and voices raise in praise to You, that Your compassion and graciousness be as a banner over fair Jerusalem. Your name is Adonai-nissi (Name: Exodus 17:15).

Praying God’s Name and Will for Israel

Let Your people remember Your past deeds of deliverance that their fear be turned into praise. You called forth the enemy’s greed and jealousy as ambushes against each other (2 Chronicles 20:22,23). Your weapons are limitless.

LORD, let Your people understand the battle is Yours, not theirs (2 Chron. 20:17). Receive the honor when nations realize that You fight for Israel (2 Chron. 20:29).

Let hearts be still as they watch You work on their behalf, for You are Silencer of Enemies. (Name implied in Psalm 143:12).
